Yoga retreats are a wonderful way to recharge and renew. Beneficial to complete beginners and advanced Yogis alike, escape to a world of wellness and sanctuary!

Yoga retreat in Sri Lanka in Nov 2018 - we have ONE more room made available (single or shared occupancy) - so if you are interested please get in touch!

We (in partnership with YMCA Bath) are in the process of planning a retreat together for next year to Sri Lanka. We will be hosted by the wonderful Glenda and Peter Botes who are opening their own hotel Plantation House, in Hikkaduwa - Sri Lanka - where we will be basing the retreat from but using accommodation at both Plantation House and next door Vesma Villas.

Plantation House, is a new, modern villa, built in 2017 with all the requirements for a relaxed holiday in beautiful Sri Lanka.  With spacious accommodation leading onto a wide veranda, cooled by paddle fans, overlooking a lovely garden, with swaying coconut trees, and a sparkling swimming pool.  There is an outdoor dining area and yoga platform beside the pool, to enjoy as much of the beautiful weather, as possible.  The villa is completely air-conditioned, to ensure a good night’s rest.  Next door in Vesma Villas we will benefit from similar accommodation either in the main house of outside lodges.

The Plantation House villa is owned and run by Peter & Glenda Botes, which is just a 5 minute walk to the famous swimming, surfing, and holiday beach of Hikkaduwa.  Hikkaduwa, is a well-known holiday destination, with a chilled, laidback atmosphere.

After flying into Colombo, guests are met by a private driver and transferred by air-conditioned mini-van or bus to Plantation House.  This is approximately a 2-hour drive on the new motorway, down the South Coast.

Hikkaduwa is a bustling town and while it’s a tourist destination, it has not lost the charm which is evident by all the markets & local traders.  The next main town down the South Coast is the famous walled city of Galle, which is a 15 minute car/bus/tuk-tuk drive away.  Galle is rich in history dating back to the days of the Portuguese & Dutch settlers, and a must for a visit on your trip.

Hikkaduwa beach is long stretch with beautiful soft white sand, lined by coconut trees, perfect for lazing the day away, dipping often into the warm waters of the Indian Ocean.  For the early riser, a great way to start the day is a walk or run on the beach, with a quick dip in the ocean before returning for breakfast – which will be served on the outdoor terrace.

The local beach has an assortment of restaurants serving breakfast, lunch & dinner, offering everything from a typical English breakfast to Sri Lankan & International Cuisine. The local fishermen take their boats out early each morning, so fresh fish is a definite on every menu.  One must not miss the spectacular sunsets, a perfect spot to sip a cool drink, at the end of the day.

There is an excellent yoga studio a short walk from Plantation House, where 2 classes per day are on offer, at 9-10 am and 4-5 pm.

A bit about Peter & Glenda Botes

They are a highly experienced couple with an extensive hotel, travel & hospitality background, they have owned and operated both large and small hotels & restaurants in the UK & South Africa.  Their first retirement project was owning Blue Quails café/deli in Bath.  Building & running Plantation House in Sri Lanka is our next retirement project. We will have a full team running the guest-house under our guidance.  Whilst the property will operate on traditional Sri Lankan style – modern western comforts will also be on offer.

Return to our Narnia themed Retreat in a day - our 2017 retreat sold out, but we are now taking booked for 2018....but the Saturday has already sold out... we have spaces for Sunday 2nd December at the moment!

This retreat sold out so fast that we have booked a whole weekend in December - so we can take more people on our wonderful Narnia journey - as we had to turn away so many disappointed people last year.

We are excited to be returning to Barley Wood on Saturday 1st December and Sunday 2nd December 2018  for a retreat in a day - you can join us for either one day or both and opt to stay overnight at the beautiful Barley Wood.  Nurture yourself before the festive season kicks in completely - allow yourself this special time and join Sarah and I as we walk through the wardrobe and into Narnia....

This year the event has proven so popular again that when we released the dates in late April the Saturday sold out (20 spaces) within a week - so now we have places just left on Sunday 2nd December - if you are interested please do get in touch as they are unlikely to be around for long! There are still some bedrooms available so if you wanted to arrive Saturday late afternoon and stay over night before the event on Sunday you you would be welcome. Rooms cost £100 a night and the day retreat is £55 with a pot luck communal lunch. We provide drinks and snacks during the day and some little surprises along the way...

To book contact or contact me directly.
